"The Art of ICD-9 Coding" Workshop

- A Beginner's Level Diagnostic Workshop for Home Health Clinicians and Novice Coders
This class allows novice coders to develop basic coding skills and foster good habits crucial to coding success. These concepts are the critical foundational knowledge needed to begin a successful journey down the path to coding accuracy and regulatory compliance. Attendees will learn how ICD-9 CM codes are used, the proper steps to accurate Code selections and a general overview of coding guidelines. - Creating a Diagnosis Masterpiece
(An Intermediate Level Diagnostic Coding Workshop for Home Health Clinicians & Coders)
This class continues the quest for coding accuracy with a review of general coding guidelines; however, the emphasis is on accessing & understanding chapter-specific guidelines. Presenters will discuss the latest guidance from CMS related to the completion of M1012 and other coding criteria for OASIS-C. Completion of coding exercises as well as analysis and comparison of these common home health scenarios facilitate the integration of these more complex coding concepts. - Where Art Meets Science: Advanced Level Strategies and Applications for Home Health Coding Success
(An Advanced Level Diagnostic Coding Workshop for Home Health Clinicians & Coders)
This class looks at all the other issues related to home health coding beyond describing your patient with ICD-9 codes. This intensely interactive class includes discussions, exercises & scenarios to facilitate the integration of the multitude of guidance facing home health coders today.

TAHC&H's ICD-9-CM Coding Conference

The conference "By the Numbers: Coding in 2012" is designed for those who have an understanding of ICD-9 coding but would like to take it to the next level in 2012. Attendees will receive the tools to master common coding specific systems, disease processes as well as increased knowledge of coding conventions and guidelines. This event will cover the coding changes published in the 2012 PPS Final Rule, such as the removal of two hypertension codes from the case mix list, recalibration of the case mix weight table and the deceleration of high therapy reimbursement.

About the OASIS Certificate and Competency Board's Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C) exam
The COS-C exam is a voluntary certificate examination which home care providers may take in order to demonstrate and establish their expertise and commitment to OASIS data accuracy. The COS-C exam will be administered the day following the Blueprint for OASIS Accuracy training. The scope of the COS-C exam includes Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) instructions related to the OASIS time points, regulations, patient populations & OASIS-C item-specific scoring. Registration and payment for the COS-C examination is through the OASIS Certificate and Competency Board (OCCB) at www.oasiscertificate.org. You must register for the examination no later than two weeks prior to the exam date. Click here to learn more.
