Database Analyst
Position Summary:

In addition to DBA responsibilities, the individual may be called upon to assist our technical support department in troubleshooting customer issues, where applicable.

Position Responsibilities include:
- Play a key role in building medium to large-scale public facing, high volume based Web applications.
- Maintain existing SQL database and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.
- Write codes for database access, modifications, backup and constructions including stored procedures.
- Identify data sources, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process.
- Leads ongoing database design for the product and design tools to assist in the management of the database environment.
- Support the rest of the development team in the effective utilization of database.
- Proactively participate in the ongoing development of applications that meet the needs of our customers.
- Deliver new functionality and change requests for existing applications in a fast and efficient manner.
- Develop and execute methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years DBA experience.
- Demonstrable experience with SQL and SQL Server 2000-2005 Development (including stored procedures, efficient SQL coding, indexing, backups/maintenance plans).
- Experience with mirrored databases a plus.
- Experience with creating a mirrored, high-availability DB architecture a plus.
- Source Control Software experience.
- Experience working in a Cold Fusion environment a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a good sense of humor.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Proven ability to work as a productive team member as well as on solo projects.
- A solid understanding of the principles of good software design .
- Knowledge of Web development (XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, DOM).
- Other desired skills include:
- Experience working in the healthcare industry a plus.
- Development experience with other technology platforms (i.e. Java, JSP, ASP, .NET, PHP, Perl) a plus.
